FAQ

General frequently asked questions

Solar PV Modules/Solar Panels - The Solar PV modules/Solar Panels convert solar energy to DC (direct current) electrical energy. They are available in different technologies such as crystalline silicon, thin film silicon, CIGS, CdTe, HIT, etc. Crystalline Silicon Solar PV panels are most commonly used in solar rooftop system. Multiple panels are connected together to form arrays as per the desired capacity of the system.

Inverter - Inverter converts variable DC output of Solar PV panels into AC power. Inverter also synchronizes with the grid so that generated power from the module can be injected into the grid.

Solar PV panels installed by Cubex Energy Solutions typically have a lifespan of 25 years or more. With proper installation, timely maintenance, and quality components, panels continue to generate electricity well beyond their rated life, although with slightly reduced efficiency over time. Solar energy systems are a long-term, reliable, and sustainable investment for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Solar PV systems require minimal maintenance. Cubex Energy Solutions recommends periodic panel cleaning to remove dust and debris that may block sunlight, especially in dusty or industrial environments. A yearly professional inspection helps ensure optimal system performance, electrical safety, and long-term reliability. Maintenance schedules may vary depending on location and environmental conditions.

Switching to solar energy significantly reduces reliance on fossil fuels and lowers carbon emissions. Solar power provides clean, renewable energy with an almost zero carbon footprint. By generating power onsite, solar systems also reduce transmission losses and help strengthen energy independence. Choosing solar with Cubex Energy Solutions contributes to a greener, more sustainable future.

Going solar can substantially reduce electricity bills, but it may not completely eliminate them if the system is grid-connected. With net metering, excess solar energy generated during the day is exported to the grid, reducing overall billing. Near-zero bills are possible depending on system size and consumption. Complete bill elimination is achievable with off-grid or hybrid systems combined with battery storage.

Selecting the right solar system size requires a detailed assessment of your current electricity consumption, future energy needs, available rooftop area, and local sunlight conditions. Cubex Energy Solutions conducts professional onsite surveys to design a customized solar solution that maximizes efficiency and return on investment - without any obligation to purchase

At Cubex Energy Solutions, solar energy can be adopted through two primary business models based on customer requirements and investment preference:
OPEX Model (Power Purchase Agreement - PPA)
Under the OPEX model, Cubex Energy Solutions installs, owns, and operates the solar power plant on your premises. Customers only pay for the electricity generated at a pre-agreed tariff, which is typically lower than grid power.
(1). No upfront investment
(2). Operations & maintenance handled by Cubex Energy
(3). Long-term power purchase agreement
(4). Ownership of the solar plant may be transferred to the customer after PPA completion (as per agreement terms)

Net metering is a policy that allows solar system owners to export excess electricity generated to the utility grid. The exported units are adjusted against the electricity consumed from the grid, reducing the overall electricity bill.
Cubex Energy Solutions assists customers with net metering approvals, documentation, and coordination with the local DISCOM, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free process.

The cost of a solar PV system depends on factors such as system size, equipment quality, location, and installation type. Approximate costs for a 100 kW rooftop solar system are:
(1). Residential / Small Commercial: ₹65-75 lakhs
(2). Commercial & Industrial: ₹55-65 lakhs
(3). Utility-scale projects: Lower per-kW cost due to economies of scale
For an accurate estimate, Cubex Energy Solutions offers site evaluation and customized cost analysis based on your energy needs.

Yes. Solar power is significantly more economical compared to both grid electricity and diesel generators.
(1). Solar power cost: ₹4.5-₹5 per kWh (C&I segment)
(2). Grid electricity cost: ~₹7 per kWh
(3). Diesel generator cost: ~₹16 per kWh
(1 litre of diesel generates approximately 3-4 kWh)
By switching to solar, customers can achieve substantial operational cost savings and protection against rising energy prices.

With a rooftop solar plant installed by Cubex Energy Solutions, customers can experience significant savings:
(1). OPEX model: Zero upfront investment with immediate savings on electricity bills
(2). CAPEX model: Maximum long-term savings and faster payback
(3). Reduced dependency on grid power
(4). Stable and predictable energy costs over the system’s lifetime
Solar rooftop systems are a smart financial and environmental decision for residential, commercial, and industrial users.

Solar PV panels typically have a lifespan of 25 years or more. With proper installation, regular maintenance, and good operating practices, panels can continue generating electricity beyond this period, though at a slightly reduced efficiency. Solar energy remains one of the most reliable and long-term clean energy investments.

Solar PV systems require minimal maintenance. Annual professional inspections are recommended to ensure optimal performance. Periodic cleaning helps remove dust and debris that may block sunlight. Cubex Energy Solutions provides maintenance guidance based on your location and system type.

Solar energy significantly reduces reliance on fossil fuels and lowers carbon emissions. It is a clean, renewable energy source that minimizes environmental impact while reducing transmission losses, especially for onsite solar installations.

Grid-connected solar systems do not completely eliminate electricity bills but reduce them substantially. With net metering, excess power generated is exported to the grid and adjusted against your consumption. Off-grid systems can achieve near-zero electricity costs with proper system sizing.

System sizing depends on your current electricity usage, future power needs, available rooftop space, and average sunlight hours. Cubex Energy Solutions conducts professional site assessments to recommend the most suitable system size.

Cubex Energy Solutions recommends installing an energy monitoring system with your solar plant. This allows you to track real-time generation and compare actual performance with estimated output on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.

On average, a 1 kW solar system generates 1,300 to 1,500 units per year. For estimation purposes, you can safely consider 1,400 units annually, depending on location, sunlight availability, and shadow-free area.

Solar power generation depends on sunlight intensity, temperature, and environmental conditions. Since solar energy is intermittent, a 100 kW plant produces up to 100 kW only during peak sunlight hours, not continuously throughout the day.

Yes, generation reduces during cloudy and rainy days, especially in the monsoon. However, solar generation never drops to zero, and these seasonal losses are already factored into annual generation estimates.

Technically yes, if combined with a battery energy storage system (BESS). Practically, for commercial and industrial users, Cubex Energy Solutions recommends using solar in sync with the grid, where solar power is consumed first, and the grid supports additional demand.

Cubex Energy Solutions primarily operates on the OPEX / RESCO model, where customers sign a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Cubex invests 100% of the project cost, handles design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance. Customers pay only for the solar power generated at a tariff lower than the grid - ensuring savings from Day 1.

Cubex Energy Solutions stands out due to its end-to-end expertise, strong focus on rooftop and distributed solar projects, high-quality components, quick project execution, and customer-centric approach. We provide customized solutions backed by reliable performance and transparent operations.

At the end of the agreement, the solar plant is generally transferred to the client at a nominal value, subject to the final commercial terms agreed upon in the contract.

Yes. If onsite rooftop or ground space is insufficient, Cubex Energy Solutions can supply solar power through off-site Open Access solar plants, transmitting power via the state grid to meet your energy requirements.

To provide an accurate proposal, we typically require:
(1). Location of the site (Google Map coordinates)
(2). Recent electricity bills (last 3 months)
(3). Contract demand and load details
(4). Available rooftop or ground area
(5). Basic company details
